This is your opening paragraph. It is called the lede. The lede is important because it is at the beginning. If the beginning is bad, nobody reads the rest. If the beginning is good, they continue reading. Replace this with your actual lede.

This is the second paragraph. By now the reader is still reading. That is good. Keep them reading by saying things that are interesting. The things should be about words, or related to words, or at minimum involve words. Everything on this website involves words.

"A sentence is not just a sequence of words — it is a decision about what matters."

Continue the argument here. Say more things. Make the things add up to a point. The point should be clear but also interesting. This is harder than it sounds. The editor has been Thinking about this for a long time.

A Section Heading, If You Need One

Sometimes an essay has sections. Sometimes it does not. This is a section. If your essay does not need sections, delete this heading and keep writing. The words will tell you what they need.

Another paragraph. The essay is building toward something. That something is the conclusion. The conclusion is where you land. Landing well is important. A bad landing makes the whole essay worse. A good landing makes it better. Aim for the latter.

This is an alternate-style quote. Yellow. Use it when you want to quote something important but differently. Or just use one kind. The editor does not judge.

This is the final paragraph. This is where you land. Do not summarize. Do not repeat yourself. Say one new thing and then stop. The stopping is just as important as the saying. Everything after this is silence. (Delete this paragraph and write something real.)
